The presentation will focus on a case study examining contaminants, migration behaviour, and safety considerations associated with mechanically recycled HDPE used in sensitive applications.

It highlights key challenges related to material performance and regulatory compliance as the industry moves towards increased use of recycled plastics.
Principal Researcher Manéa Lebrun and Senior Scientist Ida Marie Wold from Norner will present at the upcoming FIP (France Innovation Plasturgie) Conference on 3 June.
What are the challenges with the use of PCR?
Incorporating PCR into cosmetic packaging may be challenging because of potential unwanted migration of contaminants to the content. For food packaging, the regulation EU 10/2011 sets the standard for testing and limits. For cosmetic packaging, only a voluntary industry guideline exists, meaning that more assumptions and interpretations arise. So, what are the similarities and differences between EU 10/2011 Food regulation and Cospatox, and which material properties and product design are important to give good and safe cosmetic packaging options? Their presentation will highlight these questions.
Norner is joining FIP for the first time
FIP is one of Europe’s leading events for the plastics, rubber and composites industries, bringing together stakeholders from across the value chain. The conference serves as a platform for sharing technological developments, strengthening collaboration, and advancing solutions that support a more circular plastics economy.
“We look forward to reconnecting with the French market at FIP. France remains a reference point for the polymer industry, and I am looking forward to technical discussions and concrete exchanges about circularity,” says Manéa Lebrun.
Through its participation, Norner contributes to ongoing discussions on how to ensure the safe and effective use of recycled materials in demanding applications.
