The project is a multi-national and multidisciplinary effort in the field of multi-layer packaging.
Project duration: 2019–2023
Project call: Horizon 2020-NMBP-ST-IND-2019-2023, Industrial sustainability
Research programme: RIA, research and innovation
Project objective:
TERMINUS aims to develop smart multi-layer packaging designed with intrinsic biodegradability properties. In order to rise to this ambitious yet realistic challenge, the TERMINUS consortium gathers under the same roof and for the first time expertise in multi-layer manufacturing, polymer science and biocatalyst design.
Partners from the whole value chain, from plastic and packaging manufacturers to recyclers will ensure that the multi-layer materials produced fulfil the requirements set by regulatory authorities and by the market. This will eventually ensure a fast and efficient transition from the laboratory to the market. Multi-layer packaging, adapted to today’s and tomorrow’s needs, will be recyclable for the first time ever.
Norner contribution:
Norner will contribute in several WP’s by expertise on polymer development, barrier packaging materials, modification and processing of polymers, packaging material testing, and chemical analytical capabilities.
